Hands on Clay:Ceramic Market by Bandung Ceramic Maker on NuArt

This is a VERY late post about derau made on event called Hands on Clay. Held in NuArt Sclupture Park, this event was turn out to be pretty crowded before the rain. Fasting season can not stopped people from shopping ceramics goodies.
A lot of ceramic makers and their brand are opened a table. I will post about them later. These are couples of photos i took that day. About the products, i can assure you i will post it about it either :3 in another post.
I know...i know...i know...i got very very busy with my live lately so i can not post dilligently like i wanted to be. Lino grow up so quickly and Agugn so so busy with deadlines and exhibitions. Me, in he other hand, are tangled up with ceramic custom orders, making ceramics things, and finishing my artwork for next month.
We talked about it yesterday, that we are never been this busy before. Well, the more the merrier!

Almost Up To The Sea-mini series

This post is about DERAU's latest mini trinket dish series. The image below is catalogue-ish.
i make about a hundreds of them, but then i failed at firing. so i only 'rescued' 30 of them.
Just like the title, i was trying to capturing the feeling when we almoust up to the sea from a hours of travel in summer. its exhausting and exciting. the sun is warm,  the water is still plain, but yet to be salted, and the land gracefully becoming a sand slowly.

Lino recently

Lino starting learn to walk when he was in Jogja, before he turn 1. He started to make us help him walked by holding his hand. He is pretty fast learning. But i think every parents said stuff like that about their kid.
When Lino turn 14 months, he starting to walk by his own. Balancing the movement with his hand up in the air. It is so funny...and yet make me cry a little bit. Our baby can walk! From that day untill today, he is starting to walk almost everywhere. But his curiosities were like a brakes. He can not even not ignore every new things around him. Sometimes he ask us. With a body languanges and a baby sounds. But sometimes, he was just do it. The last one makes us a little bit protective lately. But yet-thats probably every parents said about their manner to their kids.
In the end of April, Lino's left eye got sick. Its called 'bintitan' in Indonesian. It is not dangerous, only disturbing. The cause mainly because Lino really love to touch his eyes so much. The frequently was so high yet the pore around his eye was fatten by the dust. Its like a pimple, but it is in around eye. So after treatment and another treatments, we were like doing some herbal, un medicated way to taking care his eyes.
Today Lino was asking Agung to have more banana. 'Nana' he said. I hear it from the other room, because i was glazing i can only join them in a seperate room. It is so funny. Even a little tiniest act can be a huge milestone.
So its Lino recently. I love telling Lino can do that and can do this. And after almost 17months we've been together, it is like a bless. But yet again-thats might be every parents think and said about their kids. :D

Linocut Patches

We have planned not gonna continuing this linocut print patch series. And hopefully at the end of summer we are gonna launch our new linocut series.

Linocut patches are our first and last product that me, Puti-and Agugn make together back in the 2010. We tried to communicating our ideas, our perspectives, and even our statements-sometimes a raw one-onto those little 10x10cm hand dyed sheets, and it feels so nice. So nice because people are very appreciate with the results. They appriciate the visual ideas and techniques.
As many not know what my role in this linocut print patches, many people are wrong to interpret this linocut print patch are Agung's and not ours. Feel kinda sad at first but then again, we keep making it together. And it feels so nice. Once again because i knew, in that little patches, there was my idea, a part of me veining about a phase, or a stage, or even an inshight to make myself feel better. So at last, but the most important thing that make it feels so nice was seeing it sewn on somebody's belongings. Its like we share the same feelings. Only it with a stranger, without really spoke to each other.

This linocut patches are ready stock. Drop me a line at +6281809972990. Via whatsapp or text. Or email me derrrau@gmail.com

Yes, we shipped worldwide! :D
